Today was West’s last swim class. We are sitting out the next session and we will sign him up again in the fall… he just didn’t seem to like it every much, but hopefully in a few more months he will be into it. Today he did well, not a lot of crying, but we also didn’t have him swim under water.
He can now sit on his own. My neighbor helped me discover this. I went to her house to help her with her Moby Wrap, I had her hold him for a second when she suddenly needed to put him down. She sat him on her lawn and he just sat there. Upright. For a long time. Just sitting there. Like a little sitting person. He sits. By himself.
Anyway, now he does it all the time. I took him to the library (we signed up for a summer reading program) and just plopped him in front of some books and we both looked at them together. By “looked” I mean I read them and West ate them.
He is almost crawling. He scoots around the floor on his belly and gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth, sometimes thrusting himself forward. He scoots backwards better than forward so he always getting stuck on things.
West has two new fun activities. He likes watching Baby Genius nursery rhymes on our Direct TV. It is 10 mins of kids singing songs. He also plays this computer game. He can hit any button to make it work. He just loves it. Laughs all the time.
His fussiness has improved. He is sleeping much better. So hopefully things will remain calm until our next trip at the end of July.
West’s mama and daddy are doing well. Mama’s been doing acupuncture to help with her tiredness and post-partum issues. She also got some blood work done to see if it is thyroid. Don’t have the results back yet. West’s daddy is working hard. He is helping build several book shelves this weekend for a friend and traveling out of town on Monday.
